=20 ]]I went shopping online at KEH today and picked up an EXC+ EOS 5 plus=20 vertical grip and an EF 50/1.8 lens and was wondering if my 300TL would wo= rk with=20=20 the EOS 5 body?[[ =20 ]]]IIRC it will work as a straight ttl flash with the flash set to p or=20 a-ttl=20 however, you can pick up a 430ez for less than =A340 in the uk on that auc= tion site, makes things a little easier...
the EOS5 is a great camera although possibly fuctionally a little out of d= ate compared to the latest eos bodies. I've got a battered one that I carry as= a film backup, I like the big bright viewfinder and it's quietness.[[[ =20 Marc, thanks for the information. I know the EOS5 is a little outdated bu= t=20 I want to get into the EOS system with the idea of picking of a digital EO= S=20 body someday so I went the cheap route. Since I don't own either I had to= =20 start somewhere and the reviews I've read pointed me to the EOS5 and besid= es all=20 of my camera gear is technically outdated but does a wonderful job of taki= ng=20 pictures and it's also good to know that my flash is compatible with EOS=20 body. My next lens purchase will be for the 28-135 IS and something longe= r in=20 the future. I'll still use my FD stuff but I'm looking forward to the EOS= 5=20 and can't wait until FEDEX runs tomorrow to get my new gear. BTW, what do= es=20 IIRC stand for? Mark Stephan Morristown, TN
